Is Meditation Really Beneficial?

Meditation has been practiced for centuries in the Hindu, Buddhist and Taoist communities; however, in our modern-day world meditation is being used to combat our daily stresses.

In fact, Uma Srivatsa, UC Davis Health cardiologist, is teaching patients that deal with anxiety a quick meditation during appointments. Srivatsa stated that her goal is to bring attention back to the one thing the patient has chosen to focus on.

Psychology Today reiterates that meditation can be particularly effective when social support is present. Meaning, a structured group directly contributes to the success of the practice.

Meditation does not ask us to do the impossible. There is no wrong way to meditate, a simple effort will bring about a positive change.
